Tastes Like Bourbon

It's showtime!

Last night was the opening of the MA Conservation end-of-year exhibition. Although my book isn't finished, I was able to display tiles explaining my project, four of the repaired leaves, four of the sewing models I've done to determine how to rebind the book, and a scale model of the book cover, which will be made out of vellum.

I've got loads more pictures, which I will post on my Flickr site in the next week. Tomorrow it's off to the Cotswolds with Mom and Jeff for a few days. Updates and more pictures next week.

I should be done sometime around the 7th inning stretch

I've discovered one advantage to pulling all-nighters in the UK: thanks to the time difference, ESPN Sunday Night Baseball (shown on Channel Five) starts at 1 a.m. Much as I would love to be watching the Red Sox right now, it's probably better for my work that tonight's game is Minnesota at Detroit.

Old habits die hard

In addition to my coursework, I have been coordinating the production of the MA Conservation exhibition brochure. The blog, it is a-changing

In a bit of delayed spring cleaning, I've made some changes to the blog. Besides the new design, I've also changed how I display my photos, which are becoming numerous (although I have still managed to stay out of most of them, the above being an exception).

There's a link to my flickr site in the upper right corner, and at the bottom of that page you can sign up for RSS feeds and/or email alerts so you know when I've uploaded new photos. Or you can bookmark the page and check it as often as you wish...or not.

One of the advantages to being a 2nd-year MA is that you get loads more space in the studio to store all of those essential conservation items.
